Evening Skin Care Routine

I personally look at Skin Care as a long term investment in terms of ones physical well-being. I mean who would want to have dark bags under her eyes, fine lines and wrinkles, or saggy face in her mid 30’s to early 40’s? These things sounds like a nightmare but it does happen to some, it is better to be safe than sorry.

First signs of skin aging may be visible at the age of 25, therefore skin care must begin at a much earlier time. Do not worry if the cost of skin care products can put an added weight to your budget, just remember that it is an investment and it is nothing compared to the price of aesthetic procedures that you might be availing in the future just to look better.

Every skin care routine should start by cleansing the face. Currently, I have been using the Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash from Origins. It cost P1, 200.00 per 150 ml. squeeze tube. This product is sensitive skin friendly and has a pleasant and relaxing scent to it. It leaves the face literally squeaky clean.

I make sure that every corners of my face is being thoroughly cleansed while slightly giving it a massage. After rinsing my face, I pat it dry using a soft face towel with a light hand.

Next is toning. Toners tend to remove the deep seated dirt in the parts of the face which is not taken out by soap or cleanser. Some toners also leaves positive skin benefits like pore minimizing, whitening and others depending on the kind of toner that you are using.

In my case, I use the Premium Lettuce and Cucumber Watery Toner from Skin Food.  I ordered it online from Althea Philippines at P500.00.

This toner is 90% water, 5% cucumber and 5% lettuce extracts. It’s organic that is why it is very mild in the skin. I apply it all over the face using a cotton round and wait for five to ten minutes before I moisturize.

Then here comes moisturizing. Irrespective of what skin type you have, it is very important to keep the skin fully moisturized. Moisturizers in the skin are as important as water in our body.  It keeps the skin hydrated and provides an extra glow.

The product that I am using right now is the Aloe Vera Soothing Gel from Nature Republic. The 300 ml.  tub retails for P250.00. It is so soothing and cooling in the face when applied.

Lastly, is eye cream because I do not want to have dark baggy under eyes in the near future. I use this Anti Wrinkle Eye Cream from MUZ which is another Korean product. This is very affordable as compared to other eye creams in the market but I think it works just fine. It comes in sachets for only P100.00 +.

Now, for extra care to the skin Facial Masks are great too!

Honestly, I am not a fan of facial masks until I read  positive effects that it can do to the skin. Lately, I use the 2 minute Whitening Miracle Wash-off Mask from iWhite Korea for just more or less P30.00. I love using it because it doesn’t have to stay in the face for a long time, 2 minutes is just all you need.

I also like the way it smells, it has a gel like consistency and very easy to apply in the face. After 2 minutes have passed, I gently massage my face into circular motions. While doing so, some excess skin (dead skin cells) starts to peel off. Afterwards, I rinse and again pat my face dry with a towel.

I can feel that my face becomes supple and soft after using this mask. I use it three times a week.

Let me make clear that we cannot stop aging from happening, it is part of being human. However, I believe that by properly taking care of our skin we can delay its signs.

I know that maintaining a skin care routine is harder than it sounds; there are times when we tend to procrastinate and got lazy. I have been through it before. We should keep in mind though that skin care is way more important than just piling lots of makeup in our face. Trust me when you got used to the routine, you cannot even sleep without doing it ♥

Goodluck!

  1. I find Skin Food products so expensive haha but I love their egg white foam wash. It makes my pores invisible in just one wash. I’ll try the iWhite whitening mask next time. 😉

    1. I agree with you. In the store, the skin food lettuce and cucumber toner costs P800.00. It was a steal that I purchased it from Althea for just P500.00 🙂

  2. Right you are. When you get into a routine, it sticks to you. I’ve read good stuff about the brand Origins, but I find it too expensive or over my budget. Hehe.
