Rovectin Skin Essentials Product Review

Skin care products that are hypoallergenic, with NO Paraben, NO fragrance, NO Colorant and NO Mineral Oil? I got them here! ♥

Perfect for gals with sensitive skin, Style Korean again sent over a bunch of skin care products from the brand Rovectin in exchange of my honest review … so ladies, these skin essential products are for us! (1) Conditioning Cleanser (2) Activating Treatment Lotion (3) Barrier Repair Face Oil (4) Barrier Repair Cream and (5) Cica Care Balm. 

So, What is Rovectin? Developed to treat cancer patients, chemotherapy recipients, burn victims, dermatitis sufferers and all others with severe skin-barrier damage, Rovectin is renowned as an effective treatment that is both safe and trustworthy. Thanks to this reputation, the brand is often prescribed and used by thousands of hospitals and clinics all over Korea.  – these facts really amazed me and made me trust the brand immediately 🙂

Let’s take a look at these skin essentials products with my thoughts, shall we? 

1. ROVECTIN SKIN ESSENTIALS CONDITIONING CLEANSER

What’s good about it?

• Gentle for sensitive skin because it only has a pH level range of 4.6 – 6.5.
• Does not make the skin feeling tight after cleansing.
• It has a very subtle coconut scent.
• Skin feels clean and smooth after every wash.
• The packaging is a pump bottle which is always convenient.
• Has a micro foam formula that cleanses away impurities without irritating the skin.

What’s not good about it?

• I tend to use extra pumps of the product because unlike other gel cleansers, this one does not easily create a rich lather.
• I still need to double cleanse especially when I’m wearing a waterproof mascara.
• Takes a little while to rinse off.

How I use it?

• After removing my makeup or just cleansing my face with micellar water, I just get 2-3 pumps of the cleanser, form a lather on my hands and gently massage my face with it.

What are the notable ingredients?

• Glycerine – that makes the cleanser, hypoallergenic.
• Sodium Cocoaphoacetate – which is responsible for the low pH level.

 

2. ROVECTIN SKIN ESSENTIALS TREATMENT LOTION

What’s good about it?

• Gentle for sensitive skin.
• It contains hyaluronic acid which is my favorite skin care ingredient, making it ideal not only for people with sensitive skin but with dry skin as well.   
• The lotion has a hydrating barrier repair complex that strengthen the skin’s protective layer which is awesome!
• Also has a smoothing enzyme exfoliants making the skin smooth. 
• Skin feels and looks really hydrated after use. 
• The packaging is simply gorgeous. 
• A little amount goes a long way. 

What’s not good about it?

• Skin feels a little sticky but fades away immediately.  

How I use it?

• After washing the face and patting it dry,  I just pour 4-5 drops of the product on a cotton pad and apply it gently to my entire face and neck, concentrating on my dry areas. Basically, it function for me as a toner. 

What are the notable ingredients?

• Hyaluronic Acid and Trehalose – moisturizing agents.
• Caffeine – which makes the skin firm
• Tocopherole – A potent Antioxidant that detoxifies the skin.
• Amino Peptidase – Exfoliant. 

3. ROVECTIN SKIN ESSENTIALS BARRIER FACE OIL

What’s good about it?

• The idea of applying an essential oil to the skin is just a good feeling. The oil deeply penetrates the skin, providing moisture without causing any irritation.  
• Like the Skin Activating Treatment Lotion, this face oil is also perfect not only to people with sensitive skin but with dry skin too. 
• Skin feels and looks really hydrated after use. 
• The glass packaging made it feel luxurious.  
• A little amount goes a long way, so don’t use too much if you don’t want to look like a grease ball haha!

What’s not good about it?

• I can’t really tell the presence of the subtle aroma from the product. 
• On the pricier side. 

How I use it?

• I use the dropper and dispense the face oil directly on my face, particularly on my forehead, cheeks, nose and chin. Afterwards, I distribute evenly the oil on the entire face and patting it in. This method allows the product to be fully absorbed by the skin.
• In order to intensify the effects of the face oil, one option is to combine it with the Rovectin Skin Essentials Barrier Repair Cream for extreme hydration. See my demonstration below. 

What are the notable ingredients?

• Neroli Oil and Squalane – which provides hydration.
• Prunus Domestica Seed Extract – Soothes the skin and strengthen skin’s moisture barrier. 
• Tocopherol –  A potent Antioxidant that detoxifies the skin.

4. ROVECTIN SKIN ESSENTIALS BARRIER REPAIR CREAM 

What’s good about it?

• The use of this product is not limited on the face, it can also be applied on the entire body for hydration and moisturization.
• Gentle enough to be used on children. 
• It is formulated with natural moisturizers and antioxidants forming a barrier against skin damage. So, this cream does not only improves skin dryness but also protect it from being harmed which is Great!
• With Asta Cell Fortifier that is said to be 550 times stronger than Vitamin E! Wow!
• Skin feels and looks really hydrated and smooth. 
• A little amount goes a long way. 
• Non-greasy. 

What’s not good about it?

• The packaging is nice, just like a regular lotion. However, the way it dispenses the product can be a little messy so be careful. 
• On the pricier side. 

How I use it?

• I just use it on my body as a regular lotion.
• On the face, I combine it with the Skin Essentials Barrier Face Oil to achieve extreme hydration. 

What are the notable ingredients?

• Astaxantin – A powerful antioxidant which is said to be 550 times stronger than Vitamin E!
• Ceramide – Strengthen the moisture barrier.
• Hyaluronic Acid – A moisturizing agent.
• Aloe Vera and Avocado Oil – Provides nourishment and hydration. 

5. ROVECTIN CICA CARE BALM 

What’s good about it?

• Cute and easy to carry packaging. 
• I love the pink-ish color of the product.
• Skin feels and looks really hydrated. 
• The product is created to sooth irritated skin – At the period of using this Cica Balm, my skin is in its calm and relax state, so I can’t really tell right now if it does sooth irritated skin. But I will surely update this blog.
• A little amount goes a long way. 
• Non-greasy. 

What’s not good about it?

• On the pricier side. 

How I use it?

• I use the Cica Care Balm as the last step of my skin care routine. I just get a pea-size amount of the product. apply it all over the face and patting it in. 

What are the notable ingredients?

• Calamine – a medication used to treat itchiness, sunburn, o=insect bites and mild skin conditions. 
• Madecassoside – an active ingredient that has an anti-redness and anti-scaling effect. Gives a smooth feeling to the skin and also reducing itching sensation to the skin. 

Over-all Thoughts

The fact that I have sensitive skin, this entire range of Rovectin products is perfect for me. It’s free from all the irritating ingredients and aims to contribute nothing but goodness to dry and sensitive skin. I actually think all of these products can be used by people with different skin types. 

Though most of the Rovectin Skin Essential Products that I featured are quite expensive, I think  it can be justified by the Science behind each product formulations.
