5 Reasons Why You Need a Miniature Poodle in your Life

It took me a long time before finally deciding on having a dog, particularly what breed is best suitable for my lifestyle. From a fur mom of five years, here are the reasons why a miniature poodle is one of the best options if ever you are considering getting a dog.

1. Miniature poodles do not shed and have a hypoallergenic coat.

If the last thing you want is to leave the house with sheds of your dog’s coat on your clothing, or the cover of your car seat, then poodles are best for you. Well, they still shed but you can only find some on the comb when you groom them.

If you or a family member have allergic rhinitis, there’s also nothing to worry about because a poodle’s coat is hypoallergenic.

2. Miniature poodles are smart.

Identified as one of the smartest dog breeds, poodles are bright, highly trainable and they know how to stick to a routine. I find Domo to be an extra observant and forward thinker dog, he knows what’s going to happen next based on my and hubby’s action. He identifies his belongings and knows how to follow simple instructions.

3. Miniature poodles have just the right size.

Miniature poodles in terms of weight and size are just right in middle. They are not too small like a toy poodle either a bit larger than a standard poodle. I very much enjoy cuddling and hugging Domo because he is just perfectly compatible with my body and he loves to cuddle with me as well, I can feel it 🙂

4. Miniature poodles are sweet and affectionate.

Domo can tell if I’m happy, sad, or feeling under the weather. I will never forget this incident … that day I came home from the hospital where my father is and not doing well, I sat and suddenly burst into tears. Domo was there, literally sitting in front of me with a gloomy face. He just stayed stationary until I picked him up and hugged him tightly.

He also knows how to make me smile. I love watching him yawn, it’s one of the moments when he is in his cutest! So, it’s been his routine to make sure that I am looking at him every time he yaws or stretches his body. Such a sweer baby!

5. Miniature poodles are not fond of nibbling on stuff.

I never see Domo nibbling on the furniture, other stuff in the house, or the environment he’s in except for his toys. This is again one of the many positive attitudes that I love about him.

Remember, it is of great importance to think carefully and do your research before buying or adopting a dog. Make sure that you are physically, emotionally, and even financially ready. If you knew to yourself that being a fur parent is not for you then don’t even think of having one.

Another important thing is to shower your fur baby with overflowing love, care, and affection. They are one of the most loyal and selfless beings God created for us, they deserve all the best.
